About Garbett
Garbett point trek is on the south west of Matheran- one of the
very popular and easily accessible destination near Mumbai. Experience nature to the
fullest and unwind your senses at Garbett Point Trek! Garbett Point Trek is an amazing destination to enjoy the beauty of nature.
One can explore the lovely pathways, lush forests, fresh air, beautiful lake,
waterfalls with woodland sounds, serene lakes, and calm streams. Garbett
Point Trek is a wonderful destination to be away from the noise and chaos of
city life. Spend lazy afternoons strolling through verdant forests, and evening
exploring the majestic views of Matheran and Bhivpuri. This lovely spot was
discovered in 1850 by Hugh Poyntz Malet, the collector of Thane district.
Garbett point is a nice trek for relaxing and taking a break from the daily
busy life.

08:00 am Meet-up, freshen up, have breakfast with tea and gear up for the trek

with a small warm up walk.

Lake, Introduction round and brief on rules and regulations to be followed by
everyone on the event
09:00 am Continue with
the traverse of the lake
12:30 pm Reach Garbett
plateau, take some rest and then explore the surrounding,
15:30 pm start moving
towards Dasturi Naka

Things to carry
Identity Proof
2/3 liters water (Very Important)
Good trekking shoes (Very Important)
Extra pair of Floaters/Sandals.
Some Dry Fruits / Dry Snacks / Energy Bars
Some ready to eat food (Like plum cakes, biscuits, etc.)
A haversack to put all your belongings in. Keep your hands free
while trekking
Double pack your valuable / phones in plastic bags
Rain are expected, so pack your bags accordingly to save them
from getting wet
Personal Medicine
Trek India Event Rules
The Trek Leader Decision will be final, members should abide by
it.
Any addiction is strictly prohibited, e.g. drinking, smoking,
chewing tobacco anyone caught doing it will have to exit the trek without a
refund and travel back on own expense.
Kindly carry one Identity proof, at least for the trek with your
address.
People caught smoking or drinking alcohol will be asked to exit
the event on an immediate basis
If you are late for the bus pickup and are not reachable on the
phone during your bus pickup, the trek leader will leave without you, and we
will provide no refund.
Please check things to carry and wear trekking shoes on our
treks.
We should strictly follow the code of conduct to avoid troubling
our fellow trekkers or other people from our group or outside
