 About Kalsubai Trek and Camping

Kalsubai Peak – Maharashtra’s Highest Camping and Trekking Destination

Kalsubai Peak is the highest peak of the Sahyadri mountain ranges in the Ahmednagar district. At the summit is a small temple of the Kalsubai Goddess, the local deity, hardly big enough to seat three people at one time. This peak stands true to its quality of being the highest peak of the state and commands a mesmerizing view of the mountains surrounding it. Camping under the stars and moonlight at the highest peak of Maharashtra is a thrilling experience

To the north of the mountain are various forts and scalable mountains such as Harihargad, Brahma Giri, the intimidating AMK range, and many more. To the southwest are the famous needle holes upon Ratangad and to the south are Harishchandragad and Ghanchakkar.

Kalsubai with its towering height of 5400ft, is recognized as the highest peak in Maharashtra. It is situated in the Kalsubai mountain range, an offshoot range from the main Sahyadri range and rung from west to east. The name of this mountain range has been derived from the name of Kalsubai peak itself.
